Summer is all about the pool, playing outdoors, and baseball. However, despite summer’s slower pace, it is still difficult to fit in eating healthy when you are cramming in all those fun summer activities.
Amie Valpone of The Healthy Apple joined us on Talk Tuesday to share with us some ideas of healthy snacks on the go.
Amie is a personal chef and culinary nutritionist, who left Corporate America to heal herself and others. In her early twenties she suffered from digestive issues. Finally, she learned through the help of her Integrative Medical Doctors she suffered from heavy metal accumulation, hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue and other issues. (You can read her full story here.)
She started Healthy Apple to help others adopt a healthy and clean lifestyle. Her recipes are soy, gluten, and dairy free.
During her interview, she discussed the following:
- How she overcame her own health issues.
- Why low carbohydrate and no fat diets don’t work, but eating healthy fats and complex carbohydrates do.
- Great alternatives for on-the-go snacks that won’t chain you to your kitchen. Make sure to read one of her most popular recipes, crispy quinoa bites.
- How to eat a clean diet that won’t break the bank.
Be sure to watch the video interview below so you won’t miss out on Amie’s juicy, healthy tidbits for you and your family.
